It’s Valentine’s Day and I know a lot of you might be going out on a date tomorrow. Apart from getting to spend time with your loved one, getting dressed up for them is also quite an enjoyable experience in itself. I wanted to give you girls some ideas about makeup, because usually that’s one part people leave for the last.
I did consider a very glamorous daytime makeup ( which you will see in my next post!) but then I thought why not bring in an element of fun instead of going the regular way. So then I came up with this fun and flirty Neon makeup! I think this makeup look would be perfect if you’re going to spend time with your date in an adventure park or just going out for a long drive along the countryside, away from the city cacophony. I would totally do that if I was to go on a date, but alas! hubby has a busy workday ahead.
Anyway, so the basic idea that I went with was to create a bright eyemakeup look, with dewy glowing skin, slightly flushed cheeks and a neutral lip. I wanted the look to be low maintenance so that you could just apply it, head out of the door and just forget that you have makeup on.
For any makeup to last well, it is important that you prep the skin well too. I began with applying my Forest Essentials Panchpushp Facial Tonic Mist, then Innisfree Whitening Pore Synery Serum and most importantly The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream that helps keep my skin moisturised for long hours.
I let all of that sink in for a few minutes before I started off with my makeup.
Then, I applied KIKO Arctic Holiday Strobing Face Serum. Next I applied my favourite Makeup Forever HD Foundation. I set the foundation under the eyes with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in the shade Radiant Light. I also used the powder heavily to highlight my cheekbones. Next I used the KIKO Radiant Fusion Baked Powder to slightly contour my face and along the jawline. The KIKO Radiant Fusion Baked Powder is such a beautiful powder but its sad that I got it during my Rome trip when I was badly tanned so now I use it as a contouring powder. Anyway, I applied the shade Pamplemousse from my Becca Jaclyn Hill Palette as a blush.
Next up, I highlighted the browbone area with KIKO Smart Eyeshadow 10, blended out KIKO High Pigment Wet and Dry Eyeshadow 44 in the crease, Sephora Colourful Eyeshadow Red Carpet to deepen the crease and also along the lower lash line. Then applied NYX Vivid Brights Creme Colour in the shade Cyberpop all over my lids. Finished off with multiple coats of MaybellineXGiGiHadid Fibres Mascara.
On my lips, I applied a mix of PAC Retro Matte Gloss 07 and LA Colours Pout Lip Gloss Matte in the shade Enticing.
I actually loved how the look turned out. There werent too many things that were going on so I could do it really quickly, plus the attention is on eyes and its quite a low maintenance kind of look.
Do let me know in the comments if you like the look and are willing to give it a try. I’m all ears.
Until next time,
Enjoy the pictures and Ka-Ciao!
