Today was a good day! I wanted to do a smokey eye makeup look after a fellow blogger suggested that I create one. Now, if you guys know me, you would also know that I do like to play around a bit with makeup and like to try different and new things. Although, not all of my experiments with makeup are successful, today I just added a little twist to the regular black smokey eye and was quite pleased with the end result.
While some makeup looks are really forgiving, a smokey eye is something that I take really seriously and wouldn’t settle for half a base. I used The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream to prep my face, added Revlon Photoready Primer, topped with the LA Girl Pro HD Foundation, used Maybelline Instant Age rewind Concealer and powder contoured with KIKO Milano Radiant Fusion Baked Powder. My Highlight is KIKO Milano Arctic Holiday Holographic Highlighter in shade 02 Starry Gold.
The eyes actually took a little extra time today. I first applied a bone coloured eyeshadow (KIKO Smart Eyeshadow 100 all over the lids and a bit too heavily under the browbone. Then applied a yellow-orange matte shade ( Makeup Geek CHICKADEE) along the crease. Then applied a mid tone red (PAC Eyeshadow No 10 ) to intensify the color of the crease. Then I applied Faces Ultime Pro Gel Liner heavily along the lower lash line as well as on the lids. Blended it out along the lower lashline with a deep brown eyeshadow ( Freedom Makeup Pro Artist Matte 05) . Applied the same dark brown further down on the crease where the black liner ends. Lastly, used a vivid metallic green eyeshadow (PAC Eyeshadow 88) to highlight the inner corner and under the browbone.
On my lips, I applied Divine Praline from the Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick range.
And that completed the look.
Hope you all like it. Please leave your feedback in the comments below so I know if you guys like it too.
Until next time,
