If you are a lipstick junkie like me, or even if you’re just beginning to discover your love for makeup in general, you must’ve heard quite a bit about Colourpop and their vast range of liquid lipsticks.
Available at Colourpop.com, $6.50
I absolutely love Colourpop Liquid lipsticks and they do have a tiny section of their own in my lipstick drawer. Today, I am going to share my thoughts on three Colourpop Holiday 2017 Ultra Matte Lip Colors namely Snowfleek, Cloudscape, Star Crossed.
Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips come in simple see through plastic tubes with doe-foot applicators. The packaging is simple and fuss free. I would just like to mention here that when I got these lipsticks, they were a part of the holiday collection so the packaging was a little more fancy with golden caps and golden lettering on the tube. However, the current packaging is the standard Colourpop casing with silver caps.
Colourpop describes Snowfleek as a rusty red shade. To me its a warm red that tends to look rusty in bright light. I was bit hesitant about picking up this shade at first, but somehow decided to go for it since I hadn’t tried a warm red in a long time. I am glad that I picked it up because this color worked the best for my skin tone out of all the three that I picked. The pigmentation is intense and you get opaque color coverage in one swipe.
Cloudscape is described as muted chocolate by Colourpop and I couldnt have agreed any more. Dark shades like these are always a bit difficult to work with but I think Colourpop has done a great job on the formula because layering was comparatively easy. I also managed to get opaque color in 2 coats without any bald patchy spots.
Star Crossed is described by as a deep berry red. This is a cool toned red with strong hints of berry pink underlying it and that is more prominent in outdoor lighting. The formula of this one seemed a little off to me since I had trouble layering up the color for intense opaque color on the lips.
All the lipsticks stayed well on my lips with that Ultra Matte finish for 5+ hours and never smudged or bled. They do feel a tad drying after a while which is pretty much expected from all liquid lipsticks so I am not really complaining on that part.
Overall, I have loved Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip colours in the past and the love is still going strong because there isn’t anything to not like about these lipsticks, especially considering their price. Totally recommend you to get a few cuz who doesn’t love a pop of vibrant intense matte color on the lips for a day out!
