Today, I have another review of a product from NOTE Cosmetics and it is the NOTE Intense Look Kajal Pencil. I am sorry if you think I am putting too much of NOTE on your face, but honestly, I am quite smitten by this brand and I think all of you should know about this too. Almost all the products that I have tried from this brand have been a hit with me, barring about 2 nail polishes, which I will talk about in my next post.
Now, Kajal is something all Indian girls love. I mean, before we experiment with any other makeup product, we all have have tried atleast a kajal in our lives. With the Colossals and Eyeconics ruling our lives for a while now, I thought it would be nice if I can find something different, and maybe a little better.
The packaging of the NOTE Intense Look Kajal Pencil is a simple twist up kind of liner pencil. The pencil looks really tiny and the quantity is same as the Eyeconic, just 0.01 g less. I usually prefer sharpenable type pencils because of hygiene factors so in that aspect this packaging doesn’t work as great for me.
Coming on to the texture and pigmentation of the NOTE Intense Look Kajal Pencil, and how I would compare them to the Maybelline Colossal, Lakme Eyeconic and Lotus Herbals Colorkick Kajal, which kind of fall in the similar range category.
The NOTE Intense Look Kajal Pencil is a smooth and richly pigmented eyeliner pencil that can be used both as a liner or as a pencil. Now, when I say smooth, I mean the pencil glides aling the lash lines without any hiccups and delivers intense color in one stroke, the kind of color that you don’t need to go back and forth on. And also, the good thing is it is not crumbly and does not break.
If I have to compare with the other kajals listed above, the NOTE Intense Look Kajal Pencil is definitely more creamy and has a more intense color payoff. Talking about the color payoff, I do think that the Lotus Colorkick Kajal is darker and creamier than the NOTE Intense Kajal. The NOTE Intense Look Kajal Pencil doesn’t quite set as fast so you do get a little time to work with the formula, in case you are going for a smoked out look or something similar. I have also applied this kajal on the waterline and it definitely surpasses many other kajals in terms of its wearing ability.
After the Kajal sets, it doesn’t move or smudge at all. The kajal stays for long hours on the lash line, like about 7-8 hours and more. On the waterline, there is noticeable fading after 4-5 hours which I can expect because my eyes have been a little sensitive and watery of late. That being said, I surely think the survival is much better than either Colossal Kajal or Eyeconic Kajal. The NOTE Intense Look Kajal Pencil is easy to remove with any eye makeup remover.
Overall, I do think that the NOTE Intense Look Kajal Pencil is much better than some other Kajals in that category in terms of texture and pigmentation, except the Lotus Colorkick Kajal, which is more intense. However, while the Lotus one does smudge and fade on hot and humid days, the NOTE one doesn’t. The Eyeconic and Colossal are comparable in terms of texture, but not in terms of pigmentation. Being a makeup enthusiast, I know that I can find different uses for all of these different eyeliners, but if you are someone who likes an intense black kajal over the the lesser pigmented kajals available in the market, you must give the NOTE Intense Look Kajal Pencil a try.
