Today’s review is about a Cleansing Oil that I got from Innisfree a few days back. Now, I am not really a HUGE fan of Cleansing oils because of my sensitive skin issues but Innisfree is a brand that I trust and winters were appoaching so I just decided to go for it!
The Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil comes in a refreshing green colored trasparent bottle with a pump dispenser and a lock for the pump dispenser. The bottle is made off plastic so that’s a plus point because I do have butter fingers. But even with all the pump lock and things like that, I wouldn’t dare to travel with this bottle of oil because ..err..you never know..
The Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil has a refreshing green apple kind of scent which I am not sure is because of apple extracts or the added fragrance mentioned in the ingredient list. Also, there is a faint hint of tea in the scent and then I referred to the ingredient list again and saw that it also has tea extracts which are supposedly good for the skin also so yays to that.
For a cleansing oil, the Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil is a slightly heavy consistency and isn’t quite as flowy. For this reason, I always end up using more product than required because I find it a little difficult to spread.
The Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil also has HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE, which google tells me is used as a mineral oil substitute. I don’t know if it is this particular ingredient or something else, this cleansing oil does break me out 9 out of 10 times that I use it. Since it is quite pricey, I am just trying to use it up asap and definitely not buying again.
That being said, I think as a cleansing oil also, it isn’t great at its job. It will definitely take away all of your light makeup but waterproof eyeliners etc don’t melt away that easily with this cleansing oil and that’s such a bummer. The one good thing about this cleansing oil is that if you use it according to the mentioned usage details above, it actually does not leave any greasy residue behind and is easily washed off with water without making the skin dry.
Overall, I regret buying the Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil. It is not 100% effective at removing stubborn makeup, is much more expensive than other Cleansing Oils available in the market and it also breaks me out. It can be a good option to take away light makeup on lazy days because it is quite effortless in the sense that you don’t have to wash your face with a face wash afterwards. Just a plain rinse with water does the job. Innisfree is one of my favorite skincare brands and I am sorry that I have to say this but I won’t buy this cleansing oil again and I won’t recommend it to you guys as well!
