Today I have three more shades from the Elle 18 Color Pops Matte range up for review. I have already reviewed Elle 18 Color Pops Matte W11 Cherry Wine, W12 Mauve Date, W14 Berry Bestie on the blog and if you haven’t read it yet, you can check out my post over HERE. I have loved the shade selection in the range and really liked the way these fared over the range of criteria that I put them to test on. I found these lipsticks at a local store near where I stay so just picked up a few more (Well! it would’ve been sinful if I didn’t ).
Hopping on to the review, my thoughts about these lipsticks remain the same, and again if you are interested to buy online, you can find these online at Amazon.in. Also, my local store guy charged me Rs 95 for these so I guess depending on where you pick these from, prices will vary slightly.
The 3 shades that I have with me today are Rose Day, Pink Kiss and Choco Bite.
All the 3 shades are high on pigment concentration and applied smoothly. These lasted for about 3 hours on the lips but I must mention that while Choco Bite and Rose Day Lasted a little longer and stained the lips slightly, Pink Kiss actually was a more neutral-ish kind of color on me and did not stain the lips that strongly.
Rose Day is a beautiful bright rosy pink kind of color. This is my least preferred shade from the range. Pink Kiss is a pretty neutral pink shade that was really flattering on my skin and I am hoping it would work weell across a range of skin tones. Choco Bite was my favorite shade from the range and it is so in tune with the latest dark lips trend that I couldn’t help but just fall inlove with this color. It also lasted the longest of these three. All these lipsticks have a satin finish are aren’t really matte if that’s what you are looking for. Elle 18 claims that these have bold and intense color in one stroke and that’s exactly how these lipsticks fared. I am mighty impressed and might hoard a few more if I see more shades.
Overall, I am honestly surprised by how good these lipsticks are. Whether you like buying budget makeup or not, these Elle 18 Color Pops Matte lipsticks are definitely worth a try. With the current matte lip craze in the beauty world, many brands are churning out products under the matte category, on after the other but not many of them are able to fulfil the tall claims that they make. Elle 18 on the other side has just one thing to say, “Bold, One Stroke Matte Lip Color” and these lipsticks exactly fulfil the claim. The staying ability is not that great but it surely isn’t bad either but at that price point, I really don’t have anything to complain. All the three shades that I tried were soft and smooth to apply without being crumbly and were richly pigmented. I am so happy that I got to try them and in my opinion, everyone should, atleast try a few.
