The Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Bricks are limited edition blush palettes designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Ever since I had seen the teasers of it, I was definitely intrigued because honestly, it had been a while that I was last smitten by a Lakmé product. After hearing some great initial opinions by popular beauty gurus, I finally decided to check out this blush palette at a counter. One swatch, and I just picked up this in the shade CORAL and added to my basket. Now what made me fall instantly in love with this palette? You will soon know..
The Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick comes in a round pan with a transparent flip top cap that lets you see and admire the gorgeous design on the surface of the palette. It is quite unlike the regular shimmer brick designs that we see everywhere and I am definitely giving Lakmé some brownie points for that. Of course the quintessential mirror and brush are missing but I don’t generally use that and I am okay even without them. The packaging is simple, yet special with that pattern being seen through the cap. I love it!
The Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Bricks are available in two shade combinations, PINK and CORAL. I just felt that the CORAL one would look nice on my warm skin and hence got that one.
Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick in CORAL really has a superfine, smooth texture, almost to the extent of being creamy. When you do a swatch with fingers you realize that! I like the fact that the texture isn’t powdery, because in case of illuminating products its just so easy to go wrong. The formula is firm, but can be easily picked up on a brush. The blush is also super easy to blend out. There is no chunkiness or grittiness in the formula and once blended out, all you can see is a gorgeous golden sheen.
Pigmentation and Longevity:
The Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick is medium pigmented, which is a good thing because it offers incredible control during application. It is easy to build up the color in layers and is thus a great option for both beginners and pros. Also, I noticed the sheen kind of smoothens out and becomes more golden as you blend it out. The product does have a tendency to highlight skin imperfections, just like every other highlighter out there. It definitely needs a prepped up base to wear beautifully and for long hours. On a well done base, this stays on me for a good 6+ hours.
Just as Lakme India claims, the silky formula offers a smooth texture with incredible blendability. Recreate some Red Carpet worthy makeup looks with the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick in CORAL. Also, I do feel that the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick is a very versatile product and I have also enjoyed using the individual shades on the eyes. When using as a blush it is not quite possible to use one shade at a time owing to the design, however, for me, the palette works the best when I swirl the brush around the pan and get a mix of all the shades. The timing of the launch is just perfect as I am sure I will find good use of the palette during the festival season.
There isn’t a thing that I don’t like about this palette. Right from the pricing to the quality, everything looks much in place. But yes, it’s a limited edition palette, so do grab yours before these are gone. I promise you won’t regret it!
