It’s time for the beauty world to rejoice. The much raved Italian Makeup brand KIKO Milano has finally opened its first retail outlet in India.
The store opened to public on the 17th of September and I was lucky enough to be invited for a preview, a day before the launch, i.e. on Friday, the 16th of September.
Ever since I posted about the event on Social media, I had a lot of people asking me about the brand, the product range, pricing and many other questions. Since I have had a major brush with KIKO about 5 months back, I think I can draw many comparisons about the range and pricing and other general details and in this blog post I plan to cover as many points as I can. Also, I would also list down my suggestions about what to pick from the brand and my Kiko Top 5 makeup products. So here we go..
Q: Where exactly is the store located?
A: It is located on the Ground Floor in the DLF Mall of India. It is an easily accessible mall from any part of the NCR, whether you decide to take the road or the metro (in which case you can get down at Sec 18 Metro Station and take an Uber from there.
Q: What kind of beauty products are available?
A: Well, you name it, they have it. From specialized skincare to sun protection to base makeup and color makeup, every single thing that you can think of is available at the store. It is easy to feel like Alice in Wonderland since not only they have covered a vast shade range in their color makeup category but also a wide variety of product options are available in each category. For example if we talk about lipstick, there are atleast 5-6 lipstick varieties available that fall in different pricing categories. The same goes for lip liners. Then there are lip markers, lip glosses an so on. It is similar for other makeup categories as well, especially eye makeup category where you’d definitely be spoilt for choice.
Q: What is the pricing like?
A: The good thing about KIKO is unlike many other international brands who launch in India with a exponentially markeup up pricing, KIKO has remeined grounded with its pricing and therefore not losing its “affordable” tag. The products may be just a little pricier if I compare the Euro to Rupees conversion, but I am willing to forgive it since there are import duties that need to be taken care of. Despite that you will see lipsticks starting from Rs 390 ( KIKO Smart Lipsticks) , and varying between Rs 600 (Ultra Glossy Stylo) and goes up to Rs 1050 (Velvet Passion Matte and Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipsticks). Similarly, eyeshadows start at Rs 350, and then there are KIKO Wet and Dry Eyeshadows for Rs 600 I guess and finally the much raved KIKO Water Eyeshadows for Rs 1050.
Q: Are they available online?
A: Well, not yet but I am sure KIKO must have it on the cards. Who knows…
I hope I have answered the most common questions over here. If you still have any qquestions or queries, do leave them in the comments down below and I would try to answer them.
Also, here are my Kiko Top 5 makeup products that I think one must check out. Some of these were bought by me in Rome and some from the newly opened store in the DLF Mall of India in Noida.
