Today, I’m going to review a product that I’ve been using and loving a lot of late. It is the L’Oreal Paris NUDE MAGIQUE Blur Cream that I purchased about 2 months ago and have only recently started using. I have been wanting to try the Nude Magic foundation from L’Oreal for the longest time ever and Base Magique was a very dear face primer that I had loved using many years ago. So when I saw this product called NUDE MAGIQUE, it just sounded so much like a hybrid between NUDE MAGIC and BASE MAGIQUE, and I was naturally quite inquisitive about it. This stuff first caught my attention at Fiumicino Airport in Rome, and I very stupidly skipped buying it since my hands were so full with all sorts of things. Then again, I saw it at the Dubai International Airport and just decided to go for it. After getting very many uses from this cream, here’s my review on it.
Price : $ 20 (approx.) at Dubai Duty Free, unsure of prices elsewhere
The L’Oreal Paris NUDE MAGIQUE Blur Cream comes in an attractive purple colored tube with a screw-on silver cap and a nozzle shaped mouth. I really like the nozzle shape of the mouth because it certainly gives incredible control over how much is dispensed every time you squeeze the tube. That the texture of the cream quite fails the purpose of the nozzle like mouth is another story altogether.
L’Oreal Paris NUDE MAGIQUE Blur Cream comes in two shades which is really a great thing. I got one in the shade Medium to Dark Skin and pleasantly surprised at how well it adjusts to my skin tone.
The texture of the L’Oreal Paris NUDE MAGIQUE Blur Cream is slightly on the drier side and quite a few times I’ve spilled some product around me, and on me,, because of the dry texture and the stiff tube. I am not sure how exactly can I put the texture into words but it’s like air is trapped within the product and gives a snow like cellular feel to the cream. Surprisingly, I also do feel that the texture is very similar to Benefit POREfessional.
That being said, I am so stoked by the efficiency of this product, both in terms of blendability and performance. The product can be supposedly used both on it’s own or as a skin primer before foundation and I have tried it both ways.
It is just so easy to blend and instantly smoothens fine lines and gives an overall smoother base to work before applying your foundation. It also dramatically reduces the prominence of open pores around my nose and on my cheeks. It is certainly a transforming product for me. For lighter everyday makeup, you can just even out some of the NUDE MAGIQUE Cream and top with spot concealing and compact powder.
It definitely survives long hours, both as a skin base or a primer. When used under a foundation, it makes the foundation go on more smoothly than it would go just on its own and makes blending easy.
Overall, I think the L’Oreal Paris NUDE MAGIQUE Blur Cream is definitely a great product to have in your makeup base stash. It offers versatility in terms of usage. The slightly tinted cream can be used just on its own as well as underneath your makeup. There are two shades available and they adjust quite well to fit your natural skin tone. If I want to be real picky, I would say that availability in India and the dry texture are some things that need to be sorted! It is also reasonably priced and maybe since I have been deferring buying the POREfessional for so long, I am so glad to have got this one instead that does the exact same job at half the price!
Will I get it again? Goes without saying! I love this so much.
