Hello beautiful people,
I’m back with areview of another Silkissime Eyeliner from the L’Oreal Paris Cannes 2016 Collection. I have already reviewed the shade Gold HERE. I wanted to try another shade before having a decisive opinion about the range and hence landed up with this shade #250 Cobalt Blue and here’s my review of the same.
Price : Rs 575 , ( I bought mine from Nykaa.com for Rs 460 )
The L’Oreal Paris Silkissime Eyeliners have color coded bodies and a transparent cap. They are of the sharpen-able kinds which I prefer over twist up kinds due to hygiene factors.
The Silkissime Eyeliner in Cobalt Blue is a beautiful shade of the element Cobalt. On the face of it, it seemed extremely similar to the MakeupGeek Gel Liner in Electric that I have reviewed HERE. However, a closer look reveals that Electric is perhaps a shade or two deeper than L’Oreal Cobalt Blue. I am extremely fond of Blue eyeliners and such bright blues totally perk me up. It is a bold and right at your face kind of color, and I can see a lot of fun loving girls trying out this amazing shade.
The Silkissime eye-liner really runs smooth on the lids just like the Gold one I have reviewed earlier. The consistency is nice and creamy. It is really rich and silky as L’Oreal describes it to be. Also it is well pigmented but I need two strokes to get a completely opaque color. It takes a few seconds to settle after which it doesn’t budge. The downside if I may say so is that it gets used up really fast so you have to keep a sharpener ready.
I do wear contact lenses and as per my experience with the Gold shade, I decided to avoid using this along the waterline. It wore comfortably on my upper lashline for more than 8 hours. For contact lens wearers, I’d suggest not applying the liner on the waterline.
I was only unsure about the 16-hr claim of the product and I expressed my doubt in my earlier post as well. Cobalt Blue stayed bright and intense and did not fade with time. So I think even if not for 16 hours, it would stay put for atleast 12 hours so my doubts are rested.
Overall, the L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Cobalt Blue is a nice shade of Cobalt that runs smooth and is creamy to apply without any tug or pull, albeit a little caution is needed when applying on the waterline. It also sets well and doesn’t smudge and needs a waterproof-makeup remover to take off. It wore for more than 8-hr on me and stayed intact for that duration without fading so I think it will pass the tall claims that the brand makes. However, these get used up very fast and aren’t really easy on the pocket that way.
