If you must know, I am not really a concealer person. Somehow I find it extremely hard to incorporate this one makeup product in my routine, and I will totally blame it upon my bad experience with a high end product just when I was started to delve deeper into makeup. Some breakouts and a few odd experiences later, I discarded that particular concealer as well as the idea of using one, except my Kryolan onee for special days/occassions.

Cut to my Italy trip and the huge display of gorgeous makeup at Kiko, I decided to pick a lightweight one for a more frequent usage.

A couple of trials later, I added the KIKO Natural Concealer in shade #05 to my basket and here’s my experience with the product.

Before I begin, a little brief about the kind of skin issues I have and where I need a concealer. The right side of my cheek is extremely sensitive and simple things like a weather change or new product triggers a chain reaction of breakouts because I which I face some scars that fade for a while and reappear the next time I use a new product or fall ill or anything different from the usual. I don’t have major under eye bags, so the only area where I truly need to use a concealer is my cheek, and for the same usage I bought this product.

The KIKO Natural Concealer comes in a tiny bottle with a rubberised cap housing a wand. It is simple to use and easy to travel with. I only wish the tube was larger or I should have bought two of these.

The KIKO Natural Concealer is water based and that’s probably the best part about this product. It is light and easy to blend and gives moderate coverage. If you are looking for a heavy duty coverage, this product is probably not for you (while KIKO does make some other fabulous heavy coverage concealers).

The KIKO Natural Concealer in the shade #05 is a very liquidy, a watery-creamy texture with warm orange undertones, that cover up the lighter blemishes well on my NC 42 skin. When used under the eyes, it gives a nice brightened and lifted effect. It does cover lightly pigmented areas well but fresh and stark marks are not fully covered. It doesn’t look or feel cakey or heavy at any point in time. As per its name, it gives a very naturally smooth appearance.

I use this concealer under my foundation and set some areas with powder. The concealer stays for a good 7-8 hours on me. The Natural Concealer by Kiko is also paraben free and doesn’t clog pores. I can say that with much conviction since my skin has adapted well to it without any back fire.

Overall, the KIKO Milano Natural Concealer is a lovely concealer that blends easily, provides sheer coverage, stays well for hours and still fits the budget. What more can one ask for? Availability can be an issue, however Indian beauties can rejoice since a little birdie told me that Kiko might soon be available in India too. Fingers crossed!
