My hair had been behaving really weird in the last few months, partially because of the dry and cold winters and largely because of recurrent colouring and no matter what shampoo I used, they would always scream for some extra love and nourishment. Never in my life did I have to encounter frizz as much as I did in the last 6 months and thus when I came across these shampoo and conditioner specifically made to treat dry hair, I was more than glad to give them a try.
I have been using the shampoo twice a week and the conditioner as a weekend hair treatment ritual for more than a month and here are my views on these.
RENE FURTERER NATURIA Frequent Use Shampoo (Rs 1200 / 200 ml)
Rene Furterer : NATURIA Frequent use shampoo and KARITE Intense Nourishing Mask Review
The Rene Furterer NATURIA Frequent Use Shampoo comes in a transparent flip top tube, and the cap only flips open when you press a depression right below. There is definitely some extra brain that went into creating this kind of packaging that makes the packaging more travel friendly as compared to any other shampoo with a flip top cap. The shampoo is a pale yellow-green colored runny product that doesn’t need any extra effort to pour. Infact, one needs to be a little careful because you just might pour in more than you need. The product lathers extremely well without any effort and for my waist length hair, I need only as much as maybe 4-5 ml and maybe less. One may think that with such heavy lathering properties, the shampoo may be drying on the hair, and this is exactly what I thought, until I let my hair dry naturally and felt otherwise. My hair felt so much softer, so much bouncier and so much better than what they actually were. It is a much noticeable difference and you just can’t miss the way hair feels after a wash. Better still, one doesn’t even need a conditioner. Atleast I didn’t! Even though my hair was very dry towards the ends and no matter what shampoo I used, a conditioner used to be a must, but NOT ANYMORE. The shampoo is mostly fragrance free, except for a slight citrus and lemony scent that emanates when you shampoo and fades away as you wash the product. This is a great find for someone like me who like to wash hair frequently without the hassle of additional conditioning, and maybe daily as the days get hotter and more sweaty. Plus, I have an oily scalp to add to my woes. The shampoo claims to be a frequent use shampoo, so it is absolutely fine if you are using some hair treatment shampoo and this one can bridge the gaps between your treatment hair products.
RENE FURTERER KARITE Intense Nourishing Mask (Rs 2200 / 200 ml)
The KARITE Intense Nourishing Mask is a life saving product for those with extra dry hair, thanks to all the highlighting and hair colouring treatments we all subject our hair to. It does something that no ordinary conditioner can do, and yeah! you may as well skip your hair spa rituals if you have the KARITE Intense Nourishing Mask at your rescue. A quick smothering of the thick creamy mask, leaving-in for 3-4 minutes and a wash thereafter, every weekend gives my hair the much needed gloss that only comes with nourished-from-within hair. Also, the gentle washes with the NATURIA Shampoo through the week gives you hair that is shiny and bouncy, but not as heavy that it would feel limp.
Overall, The NATURIA Frequent Use shampoo and The KARITE Intense Nourishing Mask from Rene Furterer are my go-to fixes for great looking hair that can be achieved in minutes. While the shampoo is my everyday hair saviour, that also eliminates the use of a daily conditioner, the mask is some great weekend indulgence that gives you fabulous hair to last you through the week. For those with excessively dry hair may use the mask twice a week as well. Price may be a limiting factor, however, the products perform exceptionally well in restoring the moisture balance in dry hair.
