For someone like me who doesn’t change her hairstyle too often, the only way I can manage my hair to look different is by coloring them. I have been coloring my hair for many years now, almost about 10 years and I really get baffled when people tell me that coloring hair has caused hairfall on them and things like that. I do agree that repeated coloring over the years has made my hair lose its natural luster but apart from that I haven’t really had greys etc until about 2-3 months back when I first noticed 5-6 silvery strands peeping out of nowhere and I think that’s more because of the work stress that I have gone through….But yeah, without digressing too much from the topic, I want to share my thoughts about a new hair color that I recently tried.
I have been stuck to a particular brand for years now, only varying the shade sometimes, but when I was contacted by Godrej Nupur to try one of their Coconut Henna Crème Hair Color, I said yes simply because I wanted to try something different this time.
Godrej Nupur Coconut Henna Crème is a crème based hair colour enriched with the conditioning of henna and nourishment of coconut oil.
Natural Black, Dark Brown, Natural Brown, and Burgundy.
The product comes in simple pre-measured sachets that are easy to use, no need to measure.
Just cut, fully squeeze the colour & developer sachets, and mix in a plastic
or glass bowl. You are ready to go.
I strongly recommend doing a skin hypersensitivity test 24 hours before applying the color. Although most hair colors have already gone through many levels of tests before they are made available for use to the general public, yet in some rare cases, ingredients in hair colors may cause allergies in people.
Also, it is important to use gloves to protect your hands before you start working with the color, including the time when you are mixing the color and the developer.
Godrej recommends using more than one pack of hair color for longer hair lengths, however, out of sheer laziness, I decided to color only the bottom part of my hair , which had more faded streaks from my past (hair color) experiments and I felt the results would show in more strongly.
The packaging makes the product super easy to prepare since all are pre-measured quantities. When you start mixing the color, the scent of sweet coconut emanates from the mixture and is unlike the strong chemical scents of other hair colors.
The hair color was easy to apply with the help of a brush and the non-drip cream formula ensures that you don’t create a mess everywhere you go.
I washed off the color after about 40 mins and the result was beautifully colored hair with my blond streaks now turned into Burgundy. I have a feeling that probably I should have used another sachet of the same color and applied a thicker layer on my hair for a deeper result. Nonetheless, I am happy with the results for now, and maybe next time when I decide to color my hair with another of these sachets, I’ll get more of these colors. I’m not exactly sure how long the color would last since it has been only 2 weeks until now . I will update the post with lasting power once I’m sure of it.
Overall, The GODREJ Nupur Coconut Crème Hair Color is a great budget hair color available in the Indian market. Women with longer hair would need more than a single packet and be sure to nourish your hair with a heavy duty conditioner post coloring, although the hair colour comes enriched with the goodness & nourishment of coconut & henna as it is a #ColourThatCares. If you’re looking for a hair color on a budget , GODREJ Nupur Coconut Henna Crème is an option worth considering, albeit, do make sure that a skin hypersensitivity test is done 24 hrs in advance.
