DABUR Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil : Review

Hi Everyone,

After reading about my previous posts on the fight with hair fall (HERE & HERE), you would by now, know that Dabur Vatika Coconut Enriched Hair Oil was one major savoir during the time when my hair was going through a rough patch. After being mighty impressed with the results, here’s my review on this Hair Oil which has some great ingredients that can really save your hair from some major hair issues like Hair Fall, Dry Hair , dandruff , split ends and lack of luster etc.

While age old coconut oil is what all of our previous generations have relied on to maintain healthy hair, times have changed and so have the environmental conditions that out hair goes through every day. Pollution, stress and imbalanced diets are some major causes that result in hair damage and while we can’t always control these factors, it was about time we made some changes to the traditional pure coconut oil to get nourishing oil that would restore the health and bounce of our hair that got somewhere lost amidst the erratic lifestyle.

Dabur Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil is NOT your regular bottle of coconut hair oil. It is much more than that.  ENRICHED with the goodness of Henna, Amla and Lemon, this Hair oil claims to help you work on the three major types of hair damage and promises you nourished hair that shine with good health.

Remember the times when our grandmothers would mix lemon juice in hair oils to help fight dandruff, or when our grandmothers and great grandmas would apply Henna to condition their hair, or maybe soak Amla overnight and use the water to wash hair? Since our busy schedules don’t allow us to practice these rituals anymore, Dabur came up with the Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil to help us get the benefits of these age old ingredients, pre mixed in the bottle and served to you over supermarket shelves.

Let us look at how these ingredients help in restoring the health of our hair.

AMLA :  One of the richest source of Vitamin C available in nature, the Amla fruit is not only widely popular as a hair conditioner but is also a powerful agent that fights dandruff and helps add shine to hair and also strengthens Hair Roots. The added strength in roots also helps reduce Hair Fall.

LEMON : Vitamins present in lemon stimulate hair growth by making follicles stronger

HENNA : A natural hair conditioner, that is known to make hair voluminous and strong by locking moisture within the strands.

And of course there’s this miraculous potion that binds all the above magical ingredients into one, Pure Coconut Oil.

The lauric acid in Coconut Oil binds with hair proteins and penetrates the hair shaft and provides nourishment from within. Coconut oil has a soothing effect on the scalp and relieves heat. This wonderful concoction of nature locks hair moisture and prevents breakage and unnatural hair fall.

And when you mix all of the above ingredients, you get a magic potion that is largely effective on taking care of most hair problems that bother us nowadays.

The Dabur Vatika Enriched Coconut hair oil comes packaged in a green bottle with a lid that can be pierced to get controlled amount of product during each application.

The Dabur Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil is light golden in color, and the consistency is ever so slightly lighter than that of pure coconut oil. Since a large percentage of this hair oil is coconut oil, it provides the deepest conditioning that a hair oil can give. Another great thing about Coconut based oils is that they are easier to wash off as compared to other oils and the Vatika Enriched Coconut hair Oil is no exception.

After regular usage of Dabur Vatika Coconut Enriched Hair Oil over a period of about a month, and with a frequency of once or twice a week, there was a huge difference in the way my hair looked and felt. The roughness was all gone, and there is this intrinsic shine that holds on even after subsequent washes during the week so you know that the shine is NOT temporary. Hair felt softer and smoother to touch and hair fall was lesser than before. I don’t have dandruff so can’t comment about that part.

Pros:

  1. Coconut Hair Oil Base for deep conditioning and taking care of frizzy hair.

  2. Added goodness of Amla, Henna and Lemon to fight hair fall, split ends and dandruff.

  3. The Dabur Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil helps in controlling hair damage that results in greying hair.

  4. Suitable for all hair types

  5. Easily available at supermarkets

  6. Affordably priced

Cons:

  1. Solidifies in colder temperatures, so one needs to melt the oil before usage

How to use:

  1. Massage Vatika Enriched Coconut Hair Oil onto your scalp thoroughly.

  2. Allow the oil to penetrate through your scalp by leaving it for an hour.

  3. Rinse your hair thoroughly and notice a healthy shine instantly.

Apart from the one disadvantage that I mentioned, the Vatika Enriched Coconut hair Oil has everything you would need from hair oil and since it worked on major hair problem quite effectively in my case, I would recommend this over the regular Coconut Hair Oils available.
