Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask , Rs 950/ 100 ml

Hello Everyone,

Innisfree is one brand that surprises me every time with their innovative skincare. Last year around Diwali, I had won a Diwali Gift Box in a contest by Innisfree about which I blogged HERE. The product that I’m going to review today was a part of that gift box and after using this for about 6 months now, here’s my review on the same.
The Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask comes in a round plastic jar with a screw top lid. I absolutely adore the  packaging, especially because of the coppery lid that looks so regal. Plus, it feels quite sturdy.

The outer carton has the list of all ingredients mentioned on it, but alas, most of it is in Korean and the area which is in English, there’s a huge label stuck on it so I can’t even read that part.

The Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask is a grey tinged, stiff and dense mask which is otherwise difficult to spread on the skin and needs quite some effort. I usually apply the mask once I’ve sprayed my face with some toner or facial mist. That makes the job much easier.
The Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask claims to

  • Tighten pores
  • Remove sebum
  • Exfoliate Dead Skin cells
  • Offers deep cleansing
  • Provides cooling effects
  • and Enhances skin tone
And as per my experience, all of the above claims hold true in my case. After the initial hiccup of spreading the mask on the face, you just have to relax and let the mask sit on your face for about 10-15 minutes.

A good way to wash it off is to dampen the face with either some toner or plain water and massage the face so that the ultra fine grains in the mask scrub away the dead skin layer and ultimately reveal clean and fresh skin with tightened pores. The after effects are tightened and youthful looking skin that holds makeup for longer hours without giving in to the Indian hot weather. The skin doesn’t turn oily as quickly as it would otherwise and the effect lasts for a whole day.

I’m in no way saying that you should apply this mask everyday, since Clay masks on a daily basis can make your skin a bit too dry, using it twice a week should be okay in this weather. I have done that, and right now, with normal skin ,there have been no adverse effects at all.

The Clay mask can also be used as a topical treatment for breakouts, to keep on for sometime and then wash off and that helps breakouts to shrink much faster. This is in no way a remedy for frequent breakouts or acne prone skin, but just the usual monthly hormone fluctuations that we women go through.

Overall, I’m quite happy with the Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask and totally recommend it to women with all skin types and with open pore issues. The frequency of usage should depend upon your skin’s natural oil levels and apply your discretion while using. The mask would keep oil at bay for long hours and tighten the open pores to a more manageable level.
Totally recommended!
