Innisfree Green Barley Gommage Peeling , Rs 1000/100 ml

Exfoliators are a great way to revive your skin within a few minutes at home without having to go to a salon for a long facial session. I particularly, am a great fan of exfoliating products and some time back while I was at Innisfree store in Khan Market and browsing through the interesting categories of products at the Korean Brand’s store, I saw this product and after some discussions with the SA about what it is and how it is supposed to be used, I got this home and it formed a part of my HAUL that I blogged about HERE

A little recce about Gommagerevealed that gommages were a popular form of exfoliations before AHAs or other chemicalmethods were invented. Gommage is more labor intensive as it requires some extra effort but as per my experience, it is totally worth is. Gommages are thin creams or pastes that are applied on the skin and allowed to sit for a while before they are removed from the skin by rubbing.  The gommage rolls out the outer dead layer of the skin and thus acts as an effective exfoliator.
A word of caution over here: If you have broken or thin facial skin, or have some skin condition like acne or breakouts, don’t use gommage.
Now moving over to the review of the Innisfree Green Barley Gommage Peeling.
The Innisfree Green Barley Gommage Peeling comes in plastic cylindrical bottle with a pump and a cap over it. It is totally hygeinic and fuss free to use and travel with.
The consistency of the product is like a runny lotion, so runny that it is hard to hold a drop on your fingertips and you have to be quick to spread it on the face, drop by drop. Once the face is evenly covered with the lotion, let it sit for about 3-4 minutes on the skin.
Now slowly start rubbing the face with your fingertips, inch by inch. You will notice the product along with dead skin rolling out in bits. It may look scary and gross but then remember, it is for a fresher looking skin so continue.
Once all the Gommage is peeled out in flakes, you will notice the skin looks a bit raw and maybe a little reddish or pink due to all of that rubbing action and of course it will feel warm to touch.
You don’t necessarily have to wash your face afterwards, but I usually just splash my face with normal water to speed up the cooling of the skin.
Let your skin rest for a while, and apply your usual moisturizer.
I usually use the Gommage peeling right before bedtime so when the skin is clean and raw, I apply the Innisfree Vit C Sleeping Pack and go off to sleep.
The next morning, my face looks rejuvenated and bright and believe me when I say it is like no other exfoliating product in the market. I have used very many exfoliators and this one tops the list in terms of performance and long lasting effectiveness.
The skin looks so much better and the effect easily lasts for 3-4 days. I use the Innisfree Green Barley Gommage peeling once in like 2 weeks because it is a tedious process and a little tiring and time consuming one. But the end result is totally worth it.
Overall, the Innisfree Green Barley Gommage Peeling is THE BEST EXFOLIATOR I’ve ever used and if you can lay your hands on it, you must because it is totally worth every penny. I’m just so glad that I have an Innisfree Store coming up in a few days right across the road from where I work and I no longer have to travel half way across the city to buy skincare products.

Highly recommended!
