Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (Rs 3400 /30 ml), available at Sephora across Delhi/NCR
The HD range includes complexion products designed for the new needs of high definition image using very fine ingredients for an invisible, natural makeup finish.
The MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Complexion products use innovative formulas to create a new generation of makeup which is both invisible on HD cameras and to the naked eye. HD Foundation combines flawless coverage and an extremely natural finish.
The Sericite contained in HD Foundation heightens the diffusion of light and intensifies the glow of the skin.
Enriched with moisturizing agent, HD Foundation moisturizes and prepares the skin for makeup. Its usually smooth and elastic texture makes it easy to apply and a pleasure to wear. Skin texture is refined to give a very natural complexion.
HD Foundation is an oil-free medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation which covers skin imperfections, while remaining invisible on-screen and in real life. It is available in a wide range of shades to suit all skin tones.
The Make Up For Ever HD Foundation comes in a transparent plastic bottle with a pump dispenser and a Black Cap. The packaging is simple, fuss free and hygienic.
The Foundation is liquid, but not runny and the texture is very lightweight. It provides sheer to medium coverage and can be built up in layers and thus, creates an invisible cover on the skin. Blending this foundation is a dream , and it just sinks into the skin without any effort. I have blended it using fingertips as well as a brush, and I get the best finish when I use my The Body Shop Foundation Brush to blend it. I have not yet tried blending using a stippling brush, yet I daresay that a stippling brush would probably not give the best result.
This foundation does NOT cover acne scars or any other kind of pigmentation, so using a concealer is recommended for people with acne marks etc.
It creates a flawless natural look, and feels and looks like second skin. It is very comfortable on skin and has never irritated my sensitive skin. The foundation is great for a climate controlled enviroment, but sadly it does not survive much in extreme hot and humid conditions. It did not slip or become patchy on me when I wore it in a humid and hot climate, but just disappeared!! Otherwise, it easily lasts for 6-7 hours.
The shade I use is N 153 Golden Honey which is a great match for my NC 40-42 skin. It has enough of yellow tones to blend well with the Indian Skin. There are 26 shades to choose from from , so be sure you will definitely find your match!
I also like to always use a primer underneath my foundations and this one is no exception. Using a primer not only enhances the finish, but also makes the Foundation stay on longer on the skin.
The finish is neither matter nor dewy, but satiny , which imparts a natural glow without looking made up or artificial. People with Oily skin might like to top it off with a setting powder (The MUFE HD Finishing Powder would be my recommendation since I loved it when I tried it at a store on top of this foundation). Nevertheless, since I love to experiment, I have also found that using a light dusting of the MAC Studio Fix Powder plus foundation also changes the Satin finish to a more matte one while adding another layer of soft cover.
This is an EXCELLENT foundation to wear when you know you’re going to be photographed. The composition of the foundation is such that it diffuses light and your pictures come out with that soft-focus kind of effect that blurs out minor skin unevenness. The foundation just loves the camera!!.
Overall, The Make Up For Ever HD Foundation is a great foundation for wearing in a climate controlled environment, especially for events when you know you would be photographed. The sheer to medium coverage allows you to build up the cover in layers. The best part about this foundation is is the way it photographs. Skin look supple and not-at-all made up. It does not survive much in hot and humid conditions. This is the most natural looking foundation I have ever tried. I still love my Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place makeup, however, I have a hunch that this is the one I would be using more often as the climate gets cooler since it is more moisturizing as compared to the Estee one.
I would totally recommend this foundation for
- its camera friendly properties,
However looking at the price tag, I will say do not buy:
- if you plan to wear foundation outdoors/or in extreme humidity/hot climate
- if you have acne marks, because wearing a concealer every time can be a hassle!
