VICHY Laboratories AQUALIA THERMAL Soothing & repairing Balm (Rs 490 / 4.7 ml

I rarely write about Lip Balms although they’re a staple and indispensable part of my life. Even on days I am not wearing any makeup at all, I make sure I wear atleast a lip balm. At bedtime I usually stick to a colorless Lip balm, and I was on the lookout for a colorless lip balm in a stick form and guess where I found it. Since I have had great experience with VICHY products so far, I decided to give this a try.

Product Description:
Double action: soothing & repairing.

4 rigorously selected active ingredients: Glycerine, Shea butter, Asiatic acid and Vitamin E, acting together to guarantee intense repairing hydration to chapped and damaged lips and give them long-lasting suppleness and softness.

  • Lips are better hydrated, visibly smoother and more beautiful.
  • Hypoallergenic formula tested under dermatological control.
  • The rich texture glides onto your lips and envelops them in lasting comfort.

Apply to your damaged or chapped lips. Reapply as often as necessary. For sublime lips all year round, use the lip balm every day, including under lipstick.

My Experience:

The VICHY AQUALIA THERMAL Soothing & Repairing Balm is a Paraben Free Lip Balm meant to condition and repair dry or chapped lips. It comes in a simple twist up packaging and you get a whopping 4.7 ml of product in the tube. It’s a simple and no fuss packaging and I always keep in handy in my purse for touch up while I’m travelling. Since it is in a tube, it’s not even messy or unhygeinc to apply and can be directly slapped on to your lips every time you need to.
There is a light floral scent to the product if you sniff it up really close, otherwise no discernible taste or smell. The consistency is light and slick, and it smoothly glides on to the lips without melting or depositing too much product in one go. On the flip side, I think I would have preferred a more dense formula for overnight repair.
Once you apply the balm on your lips, it doesn’t sink in too fast, and stays on like a layer for a while before it gets absorbed , bit by bit, over a period of half an hour or so, and keeps moisture locked in lips for really long, upto 8 hours. I usually apply this at night before bedtime, and the next morning my lips feel really soft and supple. On a daily basis, this is a great maintenance product, and takes care of minor dryness and flakiness quite well, however, if you have severely dry lips, like I had just about a few days back because of drinking less water and getting exposed to all of that dust and dirt (my home renovation, remember??), this product didn’t completely heal my chapped lips, though it did reduce them considerably.
I won’t say I’m in love with the product, but yes, I do like it a lot. It is better than many that I have tried before, but I don’t think I would want to repurchase this again. There are too many out there to try 😉 Also, this doesn’t have any SPF .

If you are looking for a Paraben Free lip balm for regular conditioning of lips , this might be what you’d like to pick. However, if you have excessively dry and chapped lips, this product is not for you, and neither if you are looking for a lip balm with some sun protection .

Thanks Garima, yes, I've encountered similar problems in many except for the Body Shop Lip Butters, which are probably the best I've ever used.

Hey saniya, I am quite okay with the no SPF part since I use this for overnight repair. However a lip balm with SPF during day time suits the weather much better 😉
