“Bobbi’s revolutionary new lipstick – Creamy Matte Lip Color combines the look of a classic matte lip with incredible wearability. Creamy and moisturizing, it glides on comfortably and feels light-as-air. Not to mention that it’s got staying power, too (it won’t budge for 8 hours). Inspired by the looks she was creating for Fashion Week, Bobbi set out to develop the perfect color range, everything from nudes to brights to bolds. We’re pretty sure you’ll want more than one color.”
Bobbi Brown creamy Matte Lip Color Red Carpet is described as a Rich Bright Red. To me it is a rich, bright Red with very warm undertones that get highlighted especially when photographed under yellow light.
The Bobbi brown Creamy Matte lip Colors are housed in a strong and sturdy shiny black plastic case that closes shut with a firm click.
The lipstick bullet has a rounded top and I’m not quite a fan of those because they interfere with precise application along the corners of the lips, so I usually use a lip brush to outline the lips with color and then fill in directly from the bullet.
The Bobbi Brown Creamy Matte lipsticks have the most amazing texture I’ve ever come across in a lip product, especially mattes. The formula is creamy, yet very lightweight and it glides effortlessly on the lips. After a few minutes post application, the lipstick settles down to a comfortable matte finish. The lipstick is saturated with color, and just a single swipe deposits even and opaque color on the lips. Unlike many mattes, this one doesn’t cling to the dry flaky areas of your lips, neither does it highlights lip lines.
However, when the color fades, it can look a little rough if you’ve already had dry lips beforehand. So a good practice before applying any matte lip color is to have properly exfoliated and conditioned lips. On my lips, the color faded evenly after about 6+ hrs of wear , and there is a strong stain left behind.
The lipstick is neither moisturizing nor drying.
Overall, I really like the lightweight formula with it’s excellent color coverage and lasting ability and would totally recommend these lipsticks to everyone. I am not quite fond of this shade in particular, especially for evening wear as the warm undertones in it makes my skin look dull. But there are a lot of beautiful shades to try out from the range, so if you can, do try out these amazing Creamy matte Lipsticks from Bobbi Brown.
