Maybelline ColorSenasational Vivids Lipstick in Hot Plum (£7.19 , I bought it for buy One get 2nd at half price ) is a bright Fuchsia with purple undertones. The color is strikingly similar to M.A.C’s Daddy’s Little Girl released in the Limited Edition Archie’s Girls Collection. It’s almost completely opaque on my lips and very comfortable to wear. The texture is creamy but not heavy . It is not quite as neon as Shocking Coral from the same range but in fact quite a wearable color.
The lipstick wore comfortably for 4+ hours on me with a meal in between and it leaves behind a strong stain so that your lips don’t look bare at any given point in time. It fragrance is similar to other Maybelline ColorSensational Lipsticks, very sweet vanilla kind and I find it rather overpowering for my senses. Some people may like it so it’s completely a matter of preference.
The finish is between creamy and matte and it takes just about a few minutes to settle down on your lips post application.
The packaging is rather very eye catchy and colorful. All the lipsticks from this range have the Red caps with Silver bullet inside. Super cool, I think, except that if you have more than 1 of these, you might want to keep them upside down for easy location of shades.
These haven’t been launched in India yet, so availability can be an issue.
Overall, I really think it’s a High Performing Drugstore lipstick and totally deserves a chance.
