I really had to tell you about the newest lippies in my makeup stash and these are the MAX Factor Color Elixir Lipsticks in shades #833 -Rosewood and #665- Pomegranate.
These lipsticks are well pigmented and you need just about two coats to make it look completely opaque on your lips. They’re not exactly creamy but still very smooth to apply and feel light on lips.
The shade Rosewood is a mauve-y soft brown kind of shade and is like the perfect lipstick to go with smokey eyes, or for everyday wear. For me, its also very close to being a MLBB shade so you can imagine my love for it. The lipstick is slightly Frosted ,IMO, though I can’t really make out even if I look very closely. The staying power is around 2 hrs on me.
The shade Pomegranate is a Blue based Pink which performs much better than the shade Rosewood in terms of pigmentation and lasting power. Somehow , I felt the testers at the store were much softer and creamier than the lipsticks I’ve got home. This also leaves a faint pink stain behind when it fades, unfortunately which I found to be patchy, so touch ups after meals or in about 2-3 hrs is a must. At this price (these are now priced at INR 750 for 4 g), you can get much better lipsticks so I don’t really recommend these.
I like using these because they are great to look at (look at that Fancy Golden Case with color indicator bottoms) and are well hydrating. My lips don’t feel dry even after the lipstick has worn off, though I use them only when I need color on the lips for a couple of hours. They do not feather or bleed, but I’m not too sure because I’ve used these only in this dry winter months. I’d advice using a lip liner underneath to make them more long lasting.
Here are some swatches for you all.
Overall, these are good lipsticks though overpriced, and I might not really buy one in future because I’d rather spend on Inglot lipsticks at a lesser price and better quality or put in a few bucks more and get a MAC….
Hope you enjoyed reading through!!
Have a great day all!!!!
