I have been doing a lot of bright lipstick posts for the past few day, so I thought of taking a break from those and talk about a lipstick that’s neutral and can be worn every single day of the week without a second though. And a lipstick that I did not really plan to buy (ya, I have a list with me, so to say a mind block of the kind of shades I wanted to see, try and buy). This is probably one of my initial purchases from the brand, and something that got me hooked on to them.
You know, how , all of us are always want to have that perfect red/nude/MLBB color? Oh yes! I ain’t no exception either, and when the SA asked me to try this color I really couldn’t refuse. I was not looking for such a neutral color you see, but she was way too sweet to be refused, so I did try, and boy, it was luuuuv at that. I instantly picked this up and came back home happy dancing!!!
MAC describes Crème in your Coffee as Creamy Mid tone Pink-Brown
and that’s probably the exact shade description of the shade. I wonder why did they name it Crème In Your Coffee then? Anyway, its a beautiful warm shade that looks a bit more pink on me than brown, but I think it will look different on different girls depending upon the natural lip color . It can be worn to work, to the grocery store and also to a party with dark smokey eyes 😉
Anyway, the lipstick comes in standard black casing as all other MAC lipsticks and has the signature Vanilla scent to it. You get a whiff of the scent as soon as you open the cap and its so beautifully intoxicating. I love that smell!!!!!
This lipstick , true to its name has a creamy finish with some sheen to it. Its really very creamy to apply, yet does not bleed and I need three to four coats of the lipstick to make it fully opaque. This is probably the only bad about this lipstick.
The lipstick is also not as long lasting
as my other MACs but I guess that’s more because of the finish. With a glamorous glossy finish like that, I am quite okay with the staying power of about three to fours hours. The lipstick is non-staining
and when it fades, it looks like I have no color left on my lips. Because its so close to my natural lip color , I have to be careful about reapplying it after regular intervals.
It’s not exactly a unique shade because I did find very similar looking shades in my vanity. Revlon Color Burst Rosy Nude(reviewed HERE), Maybelline Moisture extreme Chestnut and Totally Toffee and Maybelline Color Sensational Crazy for Coffee
are similar looking colors that I found. The closest is perhaps Revlon Colorburst Rosy Nude.
The thing that really sets this lipstick apart is the way it feels and looks on your lips. It does not settle in the fine lines and the glossy sheen gives a very polished and sophisticated look.
Overall, I really like this lipstick and wear it very often. But you don’t really have to buy it because it is not exactly a unique shade. Finish vise Revlon Rosy Nude is very comparable and at a much lesser price, so you be the judge..
Hope you find the review useful.
Have a great day everyone!!
